The Real-Time Separator gives producers a new choice for liquid/gas separation. An ideal replacement or augmentation for heater treaters, their burners and/or vapor recovery towers (VRTs), the Real-Time Separator reduces volatile gas as it flows through the unit. Unlike traditional equipment, our solution delivers precise two-phase separation in a small, compact footprint — in real time, and without any emissions.

Powerful Design 

The Real-Time Separator can handle all varieties of line slugging generated by elevations in terrain; hydrodynamic slugs; riser-based slugging; and pigging slugs. Its highly durable full-bore design eliminates unnecessary maintenance. 

Immediate Separation

In applications where a liquid flow contains entrained gas, the Real-Time Separator will restructure the flow regime to a stratified flow and then separate the two phases under full flow conditions. In a wet gas condition, the Real-Time Separator removes liquid condensates — whether in aerosol form or in slugging — from gas without any disruption or delay in the flow. 

Wide Range of Flow Conditions

The solution’s modular design allows it to perform dependably under a wide variety of flow rates, temperatures and pressures. It can scale up or down based on an operation’s requirements, whether that involves a 1” or 16” line size.

Independent Certification

The Real-Time Separator has been independently validated by CEESI, the flow testing industry’s leading third party lab. Spanning over 40 data points, including 14 blind, the results delivered an exceptional +/- 1% rating across a wide range of test conditions.  

Applications

Versatile and proven to reduce RVP, the Real-Time Separator can be utilized in a wide range of production applications. In each use, producers benefit from zero emissions, immediate separation, a smaller equipment footprint and lower opex and capex.

Heater Treater Augmentation or Elimination

A single heater treater can emit between 2,000 Mt and 4,000 Mt of CO2 per year. Each burner can generate as much annual CO2 as roughly 800 passenger vehicles. A single Real-Time Separator can perform the work of multiple heater treaters in a 75% smaller footprint, without any emissions or retention time. Our solution can replace heater treaters and burners or augment them, depending on an operation’s needs.

VRT Elimination

Another source of production inefficiencies and potential emissions are VRTs, which are often plagued by oil carry-over to VRUs. By delivering clean, real-time separation, our solution is an ideal alternative VRTs helping eliminate gas build up in holding tanks and can help achieve the goal of tankless operations. 

Well Testing

Once separation is complete, the Real-Time Separator enables the accurate measurement of single-phase gas and liquid flows. This allows producers to measure real-time flow rates, pressures, fluid properties and other aspects of well productivity far more accurately than with traditional well testing methods.
